Ubud-Bali insights

Yesterday was filled with new faces

Delicious fish

and discovery of active volcanoes

Each presence with an air of shift and change in the air

For the faces shift daily in our lives

but do we take time to really breathe in their greatness

to feel the heart of the soul who stands by our side

To feel the spirit of the soul who stands next in line

for to feel the life of this fish to which I ingest

is to feel the harmony of this universe ever changing,

ever shifting, only trying to wake us to our greatness

to feel the pulsating inside our skin.

As the ground stirs, the air with the smell of sulfur

and the earth to which we walk alive and well in the lasting beauty of its charm.

As I walked through my day, I looked upon these faces with a question of developed or developing and the lasting impression was made with “developing”

For they desire new

they search for the how

on how to feed their families

on how to make love in new and tasteful ways

on how to be the change they desire to see in the world.

And for myself, I feel,

I dream,

I desire this evolution of my senses

to feel the shift

to surrender to its salty synchronistic flavor of love and life.

Today, I enter back into this diagram

I search the fields

I see their hearts

I recognize their pain.

but softness and surrender overwhelms my soul

and the air of love simply follows through the footsteps of those who let it in

letting in the air of kindred allowance

and the breath of eternal life

Can you feel it?

Can you feel this everlasting spirit within?

Desiring for you to be great?

Dreaming of you to simply follow your heart,

come alive to your senses

balance your mind

and let your heart walk forward with a sense of

compassion and eternal inner love!

Developed?

I arrived last night into Bali, and today for the first time since leaving the states, I feel as though I am back in travel mode. This is a mode of much limitless cares and an endless quenching for the beauty and deliverance of unquestionable and continuing universal discovery. It’s like waking in the morning, with a kindred aliveness to any and whatever possibility may lay in front of you, with a smile on your heart and a willingness to just be simply inside of every moment laid in front of you.

Let me regress my saying, it is my continual intention through living everyday with this inner flow, however, like any day to day grind that we can live upon in our life, sometimes our emotions and our reactions get the most of us.

So for the past two weeks in Singapore, I slapped on my Navy uniform, performed some saluting, and participated in some secret government exercises. This is called a two week annual duty training, and I am grateful to my US government.

Now, do not get me wrong, I am forever fortunate and pleased to represent my country anywhere I am in the world, for I feel I bring a solid and respectful name to the beautiful United States. So, to serve a few weeks of active duty, to maintain the strength and pre-positional fortitude of my home country: I am grateful and diligently thankful to hold such an honor.

Singapore is a beautiful and constantly developing country. There are many parts that feel like a concrete jungle, but the cleanliness and western ideologies held by many of its people create a space of constant growth and innovation.

In a recent conversation with a colleague in Singapore, we discussed the idea of “developing” or “developed.”

If you walk through some villages of Indonesia, or some small towns in India, and ask a youth if his country is “developed” or “developing,” I would most likely inquire that he would insist on developing. However, while traveling through countries such as England, Australia and even the US, the same small child would most likely answer “developed.” (possibly, this is a theoretical only)

So to utilize this small answer in our day to day lives, what does this mean?

Developing?

Developed?

Well to me, “developed,” holds a cap over my head and insists that the limitless world to which I speak of above, is only a figment of my imagination and in all reality, I simply walk with a consciousness of “being full.”

Now, I do not like being full, it overweighs my body, it creates zero space inside my stomach, inside my heart, inside my heart to fully quench and appreciate in all the beauty laid before me.

So, as I take today to venture into the beauty and discovery that this wondrous island of Bali offers, I take to my heart a spirit of “developing!” For it is the unquestionable knowledge and knowing that I will always have a space of growth inside my spirit. So by letting my mind come to balance, and seizing each opportunity with a thirst of love and eagerness, I can simply wallow into the “developing” nature of my constantly evolving soul.

For as the light of spirit

walks gently into the patience of my awaiting heart

I fall gracefully into the knowledge of pure love

circling every orifice of my body

coming alive to the temptation,

the temptation of great inner discovery

it tickles at my throat

it fondles at the foot of my heart’s domain

waiting for me to see

that the pieces of me

that once held corners of distrust

to every waking ounce of me,

can now step freely

with the knowledge and strength to know,

deep within my heart

that this world is only developing for me to be free.

Take time in your day..

Yes, today..

To ponder on what this means to you...

PS.. the connection is slow here in Ubud, so I have trouble uploading photos :)
